Record

You can use Time Machine II to record a program while you watch it. You can also watch other programs or previously recorded programs while your Smart TV is recording.

The Recorded TV menu displays the programs you currently have stored in the Time Machine II.

Recording the Current Program

Q.Menu () > > REC

To record the program you are currently watching, perform the following steps:

  1. From the current screen, press the Q.Menu () button on the Magic Remote Control to display the Screen Remote.

  2. Select on the Screen Remote to display the Progress Bar.

  3. On the Progress Bar, select REC to begin recording the current program.

    • While recording, press the Wheel (OK) button on the Magic Remote Control to display the recording information at the top right of the screen.

    • When recording a program, the REC button on the Progress Bar changes to a Recording stop button.

  • You can record program by selecting the REC button in the program information window or on the Screen Remote.

  • To record more programs, connect a USB device to your Smart TV and configure it for
    Time Machine II.

  • The recordable time may vary depending on the capacity of your USB storage device.

  • You can record programs from external inputs, analog TV, or digital TV.

  • Among the contents provided through the set-top box via an AV jack, copyright-protected contents cannot be recorded. Also, officially released DVD/Blu-ray discs cannot be recorded.

  • You cannot use some functions of your Smart TV while recording a program.

  • If you remove the USB device from your Smart TV while recording a program, the program is not recorded.

  • If you turn off your Smart TV while recording a program, the program may not be recorded correctly. Before turning off your Smart TV, stop the recording and ensure that the program was recorded successfully.

  • Recorded programs stored in the USB device may be damaged. Managing recordings is the responsibility of the user and the manufacturer is not responsible for damaged recordings.

  • TV programs are protected by the copyright law. Reproducing or playing television programs may require prior consent from the owner of the content.

  • You may only use programs recorded on your Smart TV for personal use. Selling, assigning, or renting copyrighted materials to others is strictly prohibited.

Stop Recording a Program

Q.Menu () > > Recording stop

Select the Recording stop button to stop recording a program.

  1. From the current screen, press the Q.Menu () button on the Magic Remote Control to display the Screen Remote.

  2. Select on the Screen Remote to display the Progress Bar.

  3. On the Progress Bar, select the Recording stop button. A window appears to confirm that you wish to stop recording.

  4. Select the appropriate method to stop recording.

    • Recording stop: Ends recoding instantly.

    • Recording end time modify: Sets a time at which to stop recording or stops recording at the end of the program currently being recorded.

You can also use on the Screen Remote to stop recording.

Playing a Recorded Program

Q.Menu () > > Recorded TV

You can play programs stored in the internal memory of your Smart TV or a USB device.

To play recorded programs, perform the following steps:

  1. From the current screen, press the Q.Menu () button on the Magic Remote Control to display the Screen Remote.

  2. Select on the Screen Remote to display the Progress Bar.

  3. On the Progress Bar, select Recorded TV to display a list of the recorded programs that your Smart TV can access.

  4. Select the program you wish to play from the list of recorded programs.

    • If you have not played the program before, a message appears prompting you to select a playback method. Select Play on previous playtime to watch the program from the point when you stopped watching.

You can also navigate to Smart Home () > SmartShare™ > Recorded TV to see a list of recorded programs.

Deleting Recorded Programs

Q.Menu () > > Recorded TV

You can delete programs stored in the internal memory of your Smart TV or a USB device.

To delete a recorded program, perform the following steps:

  1. From the current screen, press the Q.Menu () button on the Magic Remote Control to display the Screen Remote.

  2. Select on the Screen Remote to display the Progress Bar.

  3. On the Progress Bar, select Recorded TV to display a list of the recorded programs that your Smart TV can access.

  4. Select the Delete/Protection button.

  5. Select the program that you wish to delete from the list of recorded programs.

  6. Select Delete to delete the program.

    • Protection: Protects the selected program from automatic deletion.

You can also navigate to Smart Home () > SmartShare™ > Recorded TV to see a list of recorded programs.

Controlling Program Playback

When watching a recorded video, select Q.Menu () > to display the Progress Bar at the bottom of the screen. You can use the Progress Bar to control the program.

Pauses the recording.
Plays the recording.
Rewinds the recording.
Fast forwards the recording.
Plays the previous recording.
Plays the next recording.
Clip-Edit Edits a section.
Repeat Repeats a section.
Shifts to 3D mode.
Option Sets the video playback, image, and sound options.
