You must connect your Smart TV to a network to access online content, such as online searches, social networks, and online shopping. Additionally, when you connect your Smart TV to a network, you can access the content stored on other devices, such as PCs and smart phones, connected to that network.

  • To use SmartShare™, LG Smart World, and other functions, you must connect your Smart TV to a network.

  • If your Smart TV loses its connection to the network, then appears at the top of screen.

Notes for Network Settings
  • You can use a standard LAN cable to connect to the network.

    • Use a Cat5 or higher cable with a RJ45 connector.

    • Connect the cable to a 10 Base-T or 100 Base TX LAN port.

  • Your Smart TV may lose its connection to the network if you reset your modem. So, after you reset the modem, you must reestablish the network connection on your Smart TV by disconnecting and
    re-connecting the network cable while the modem is turned off.

  • LG Electronics is not responsible for problems with the network connection or for any errors or malfunctions caused by the network connection.

  • Your Smart TV may not be able to establish a network connection due to restrictions on the part of your internet service provider (ISP).

  • You must use the proper modem for your internet service.

    • DSL service: DSL modem

    • Cable service: Cable modem

  • Some connected devices may slow down your network speeds.

  • Your agreement with your ISP may limit the number of devices you can connect to your network.

  • Your Smart TV may have a slower or malfunctioning network connection if you improperly install network equipment, such as your wired/wireless router or hub. Refer to the manual for the network equipment for proper installation methods.

  • Your wireless network may be adversely affected by devices that use 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequencies (mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, or microwave ovens).

  • The speed of your wireless network may vary depending on the wireless network environment.

  • You must have a router that supports wireless connectivity to establish a wireless network. To find out whether your router supports wireless networking, contact the manufacturer of your router.

  • You must activate the wireless networking function of your router to create a wireless network.

  • You may need the router's SSID and security information to connect to the router. For details on how to find out the SSID and security information, refer to the manual for your wireless router.

  • The method you use to connect to the network may differ depending on the manufacturer of your wireless router.
